I have developed several Project Management Dashboards that integrate cost and schedule data and provide a graphical interactive view of current project or program status. Dashboards can be quickly accessed by any of the project team and thus give an improved visibility and feedback. For example, P6 can be a scheduler’s tool and others often don’t have direct access. A PM dashboard can give better access into the P6 data. The next step is to integrate accounting data into the dashboard for real time cost schedule integration. I utilize Excel (with visual basic) for dashboard development. There are many systems available but the familiarity of excel and the ease of deployment are a big advantage. Another plus is I provide a comprehensive service from concept design to programming through deployment instead of using programmers and multiple experts.
My background includes detailed Critical Path development, analysis and tracking on major government and private projects with up to 10,000 activities. Having the engineering background enables me to interface with technical leads and assemble the project model and logic. I would consider my experience with cost and resource loaded schedules a specific expertise in including “pay off the schedule” and earned value analysis. I have prepared many time impact analysis, developed a class for contractors on delay claims and served as an expert schedule witness.
I highlight the function of a schedule review and narrative separate from the detailed CPM development and submittal (although overlap). For an owner, CM or contractor, a complete schedule review and narrative can summarize the schedule details and make it a useful tool for project execution rather than a side show with pages of data that is not reviewed until there is a claim. The narrative format in words allow for an easy review by managers and provides for timely decisions. The schedule narratives have been proven to be an effective record of the delay issues and dialog that the CPM alone cannot provide.
I have taught over 100 Oracle P6 training classes and all of the Oracle classes, basic, advanced, and administration using P6 Pro and P6 Web. I offer online classes for P6 as well as CPM and delay analysis training with great flexibility to customize for your time and staff needs. In addition, I can be a “P6 Help Desk” to for on call for advice and guidance on P6 questions where I can supplement your scheduler and provide an efficient service.
Database Management allows a person to organize, store, and retrieve data from a computer. Database Management can also describe the data storage, operations, and security practices of a Database Administrator (DBA) throughout the life cycle of the data. ... It maps multiple autonomous databases into one large object.
An Earned Value Report is the preferred method for measuring progress in projects. ... From the earned value report the time-phased, planned expenditures for the project can be seen along with the actual cost of the project work that was accomplished and the amount of work that was actually completed
